Overall, I'm very happy with this knife, especially given the price. I'm too lazy to write a detailed review with a paragraph for every nook and cranny on the knife, so I'll just bullet point it:

- The finish is very durable and feels nice. It lives in my pocket with keys, change, a bottle opener, and various assorted bits of hardware. The finish stays on nicely after months of this kind of wear and tear, and it feels and looks nice in my hand.

-The grip is a little bit short for my liking, probably because I'm 6'4" with massive hands. The end of the handle has a little hook that (unfortunately) rests right on the second join of my ring finger. Other than that, it is wide enough to be comfortable to hold tightly, smooth enough for long periods of usage, and has spiffy lightening holes that look classy and allow for your fingers to conform to the body of the knife.

-The most important part of the knife is obviously the blade. I use it to cut all kinds of stuff, including copper and steel wire, paper, rope, and rubber. With just a little honing, it was able to do all of these things effortlessly, going 2 months before it had to be rehoned.

-Opening/Locking is a little iffy. The hinge is a little bit stiff, and my best efforts to lubricate it didn't help. Loosening it fixed the problem, but made the blade wobbly. Eventually after a couple of months of wear and tear, it eased up a little. The thumb stud, however, is a horror. After a few weeks of use, my thumb had so many tiny cuts on it from opening the blade that I had to remove the thumb stud, grind it down a little, and reattach it. lastly is the locking mechanism. For the most part, Smith & Wesson have done a great job with their liner-locks, but this is the exception. The Oasis has a trick lock (or at least MY Oasis did) that requires a fair amount of pressure to engage. It rarely clicks into place just by opening it with the thumb stud or a wrist flick. I usually had to put the blade against something hard and push down on the handle, essentially "over-extending" the blade before it clicked into place. But like with the hinge, a couple months of wear and tear got it in perfect working order. It was probably built to such close tolerance that the addition of the "titanium" coating interfered with opening.

Over all, this is a great knife if you want something compact and durable that you won't be using a thousand times every day. However, if you don't mind spending a few minutes on a bench grinder working on the thumb stud, you can negate that last edict.

Wait, didn't I say I wasn't going to write paragraphs?
