(More customer reviews)I purchased the Gerber Remix with the fine edge and with the serrated edge after I read about them in the January or February '09 issue of "Outdoor" magazine (Essentials section).
However, when I received the knives, I noticed that the sliding lock mechanism on the serrated blade knife did not always engage and lock the blade.
I'm not sure if the spring is just weak or if it is just a poor design.I will note that the locking mechanism on the fine edge Remix locks just fine.But, the knife is new.I'm wondering what will happen to the locking mechanism, as a whole, once the knife is exposed to saw dust, grease, - heck, pocket lint.All the parts that make up the locking mechanism are exposed and debris interfering with the safe operation of the knife is foreseeable.
I own many, many Gerber knives.From the LMF II to the tiny LST.Very disappointed in this knife.It is a shame, too.The fingerhole provides a grip that makes the knife beg to be used.
