The knife is small and light enough for long distance backpacking, yet tough enough to handle small chopping, carving, gutting, etc.The S30V steel is excellent, and the edge retention, even through moderate to heavy use, is superb.The sheath holds the knife securely even without the strap, yet the knife can still be drawn easily with one hand.The aluminum handle is bullet-proof.I have read elsewhere that the handle is too slippery when wet. Not true. The handle is easy to grip even while gutting fish fresh from the stream (with all the slime that entails). My only minor complaint is that no uncoated, plain edge option is offered.If you're looking for a small, heavy duty fixed blade, you found it.
